Love this place. Was so excited when I found out the old River Inn Guerneville Swedish Pancakes were coming to Cloverdale. Chris is following in his Dad's tradition. Relaxing and no rushing. Staff is great! Fresh food.

We've made Zini's our regular local place to eat out about once every other week. We go because the food is great (in the expected IHOP/Denny's kind of way) and we never have to wait too long for our order.

Most of all, the service is very warm and friendly. It's not "professional friendly" where it feels as though your server is acting out script called "friendly". It's the rare kind of place where the people working there seem genuinely happy to be there and to serve you. So I highly recommend this place.

Zini's cafe is good food and service. The Swedish pancakes are yummy. The wait service is attentive and quick. The bill reasonable... I look forward to being a returning customer soon.

Zini's was surprisingly good. Not much to look at from the outside, but the food and service make it well worth coming in. A diner / comfort food menu and friendly smiling staff. I had the Hot Beef Sandwich and my Partner had the Calamari Steak. The Calamari was cooked perfectly. Will definitely be back.

We saw great reviews on Yelp, so even though there were no cars, we stopped here for breakfast! Fantastic food, everything was perfect! Great server, hot food, delicious, good coffee! Very good start to a long day!

Swedish pancakes are unreal come with a cup of pre-melted butter. Morning ham is sweet ,yummy and thick. Service is outstanding 6 visits all excellent !
— Chris H.
Essentially, it's simple food done really well. My wife and I first went to Zini's about 18 months ago. I had the pan fried chicken and have been dreaming about it ever since. We went again last night and the chicken was just as good as I remembered it.

It is an awkward space but that is more than made up for by the quality of the food. Do not expect an extravagant dining experience. Presentation is basic, the menu items are straight forward, and the prices are very reasonable

I say "move over fried chicken and waffles, pan fried chicken and Swedish pancakes are in Cloverdale!".
— Casey T.
This place has the best priced breakfast. $5.95 for a large plate of food. Service is always good too. No complaints!

5 stars for their breakfast specials menu alone. $1.25 coffee. $2.45 for an awesomely huge fruit filled crepe.

I will admit the acoustics are horrible not unbearable but not great either due to the commercial buildings huge ceilings. I got over that pretty quickly once we got our food.

Marissa was awesome, super friendly and efficient.

Wear a sweater it can get chilly inside.

I have only been to Zini's once but the lunch was wonderful! My friend lives there and she goes to the restaurant regularly. We both had bacon cheeseburgers and they were the best we've ever had...and we know our burgers :) The fries rocked too. There was definitely double the bacon than I'd EVER had anywhere. And, they know what medium rare means!!! That's huge...not big on dry burgers. It's a charming, unassuming Cloverdale place, meaning charming (have you seen the post office!). My only complaint would be that the waiter was a little distracted. That said, I can't wait go back...it's a five star!

Stopped here on our way back to Oregon on our road trip. This was a breath of fresh air after all the raid food. They had awesomely good swedish pancakes and lovely fresh salads. The service was great and we enjoyed ourselves a lot.

Great homemade peach pie a la mode. Everything was done right, including the service.
— Leslie B.
This place was so delicious! Chicken fried steak was excellent. Also got all meat omelette, hella bomb. Mimosas, one with cranberry. Incredible.
Service is amazing. Our waitress was super friendly & funny. Quick service. Highly recommended.
— Monica M.
We loved this place. Super friendly and I care alot about friendly. The building is just a box but it isn't about the building here, it's about the food. We had the daily special which was eggs Benedict, wow! Fantastic! Then we got the bill....and it was cheap! $26.00 for both with coffees and they gave us coffee to go too. If the Sunday morning crew reads this we both think you're the best and wish we could be regulars but we're from Washington so its a bit of a drive.
You guys deserve a pat on the back for a job well done, we are happy travellers this morning.

Okay, I've never had Swedish pancakes until I tried them at Zini's Diner in Cloverdale this past weekend. Now that I've said that, I will say "I LOVE SWEDISH PANCAKES!"

Zini's Diner is the way a diner should be. The service was fast and prompt, and everyone was courteous and friendly. The price is perfect and the overall atmosphere didn't feel like a restaurant, it felt as if I were at home with my family. Now that's well worth a trip up to this nice little northern California town.

But I have to rant about these Swedish pancakes...

Not to sound crude, but this experience was like a sexy date for my mouth! I always thought that pancakes should be fluffy and huge, so that they could soak in the butter and syrup like a sponge. Well, I was so wrong. I've had crepes before, but this was not a crepe. This was heaven! These large cakes were thin, well browned on both sides, with a slightly crispy edge that gave the butter and syrup a nice place for the lingonberries to swim in. I slowly enjoyed each bite as if it were my last. If you're ever in Cloverdale, or you need a place to eat for breakfast before you head up to Mendocino or Fort Bragg, stop by and grab a plate of Swedish pancakes so your tongue can give you a 'high five' after the first bite!

Really tasty food, great service and really clean. Only thing I would maybe mark down is the decor - a little bit basic and sterile - not what you might expect fro a diner. But I guess this isn't the most important thing so I didn't knock off a star! Would definitely come back here again.

Had the Club sandwich with amazing potato salad!!! Super Yummy!!!!

Great staff!!!

All around great place!!!

Keep up the good work!!!
— Sara R.
Stopped in for breakfast. Nancy was our server she was great, super fast and friendly. Nancy suggested the home made biscuits & gravy, they were so good! Bacon was perfectly crisp. Fruit was fresh. The restaurant and bathrooms were very clean. Overall great experience. Prices are very reasonable.
— Jacqueline R.
Great food and great staff! Haven't ordered anything there that I didn't like! Love those hash browns yummy!
— Kathy C.
Heck yeah. Super cheap, totally simple breakfast diner food. I was hungover as all hell and needed hash browns like I needed water. Zini's delivered. The decor is really strange and the space probably used to be an auto parts store, but that's alright. The people working were nice and the service was quick.

Last night my family and I had dinner @ Zini's Diner. We eat there often for breakfast and dinner and really enjoy the home-cooked food. Our particular favorite is the calamari steak, which we think is the best in Sonoma County! Last night we also ordered the delicious seafood chowder which was great with the calamari steak. Zini's has a large selection of food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, as well as excellent homemade pies. The servers are very friendly and always make us feel welcome. The prices are very reasonable and the portions ample!

we recently moved to oregon and this was our first trip down south and back. we left the east bay early and got hungry for breakfast around cloverdale. i checked the gps for a 'cafe' or a 'diner.' the first 'cafe' was not open. next, zini's diner. what a lovely surprise it turned out to be. a large cafe with a really cool decor and pictures. the coffee, which i love to complain about when eating out, was EXCELLENT! the server was so great, good humor, good cheer, quick and delightful. my bacon/cheddar/mushroom omelette was the best i have ever had. and it came with a bowl of FRESH fruit in lieu of hash browns which i did not have to pay extra for. hubby's denver scramble was also very very good - big chunks of fresh ham, hash browns were exceptionally good. we both left our plates totally clean.

This place is awesome! We drove from NorCal to Oregon on Wednesday and had an amazing early dinner of chicken fried steak and roast beef. All made from scratch. Then finished with delicious homemade fruit pies and ice cream.

We timed it right on our return today (Sunday) to grab a late lunch. Same entrees. Extra green beans for me and then homemade chocolate cake and ice cream. Thanks to Nancy for the great service.

This is a fantastic diner/cafe. Friendly service. Great food. Worth every star and your patronage.
